Simone Wray FIRM

Simone has fifteen years experience in operational risk management, employed by high profile global companies in the private sector and also of working in the public sector environment. She started her career as a member of the corporate risk management team at BT. Simone achieved Fellowship of the Institute of Risk Management in 1995 and has been a Director of the Institute of Risk Management for the past 5 years holding the position of Deputy Chairman in 2004.

After being with BT for several years she then moved on to a new position with BAE SYSTEMS where she further developed her skills and experience delivering corporate risk management initiatives worldwide across the Group in product integrity; contractual risk management and business continuity. Her role also involved providing risk and insurance advice for due diligence activity for corporate mergers, acquisitions and disposals and to PFI bid teams. Whilst at BAE SYSTEMS she project-managed the design and delivery of a risk awareness and communications programme for which the team were honoured to receive a Silver Chairman's Award for Innovation.

In her next role as Group Risk Advisor at HBS Business Services Ltd she was challenged with sole responsibility for the design and implementation of their risk management framework across the organisation and as a risk management consultant to their public sector partners.

In March 2005 Simone set up RiskWorks, a company that provides risk management advice, facilitation and training. RiskWorks is one of the first approved course providers for the Management of Risk and Uncertainty - risk management training accredited and certified by the Institute of Risk Management.
